I just arrived in Arizona. That is to say I feel as though I have just arrived in Arizona. I've been here since August of 2013, but I was 61/2 months pregnant at the time, and it was 110 degrees Fahrenheit and I pretty much stayed at home, or in the pool most of the time, which could have been anywhere, U.S.A.
Two things have happened since moving here, I have popped out my baby (I wish it had actually been that easy), and it's winter, so it's actually 70 degrees everyday instead of what feels like OVEN degrees.
So I'm actually getting to experience Phoenix, in the best way I know how, by walking around and exploring the city on foot as much as possible.
I am finally beginning to enjoy myself. It helps me love Phoenix a little bit more thinking of my friends and family buried in snow in the Northeast and Midwest, while I'm looking at an enormous blue sky, and contemplating hiking up Piestewa Peak This blog is going to be my way of trying to let my people scattered all over know what we've been up to lately. I miss my family and many friends, and it's hard to talk on the phone with a 2 year old and a 2 month old hanging around, and the computer makes things easier because it's one to two hours later in Chicago, Baltimore, Ohio, Alabama, Tennessee, and everywhere else I know people, and even later when everyone else goes on daylight savings time (DST). What you say? Yes, Arizona is the only state that DOES NOT spring forward in the spring and fall back in the fall, except for the part of Arizona covered by the Navajo Indian Reservation. Here's a link to an article that explains why in more detail, and actually I didn't know the history of DST, so that's pretty awesome. Also, a whole website called timeanddate.com? Nuts.
The point is it's hard to call everyone I love, and facebook is frustrating, because I keep getting creepy ads for middle aged moms (which I guess I am, but still), and they keep showing me pictures of weird ex- boyfriends and updates of people I don't care about, and I have to really search for updates of people I do care about, and I don't want to play candy crush saga OKAY? OKAY?
I am going to try an update regularly with my adventures and pictures, as well.
Thanks for reading!
